 Wall Street on Edge: Rising Oil Prices and Iran Conflict Spark Fresh Inflation Fears September 7, 2026 Wall Street is facing a fresh wave of uncertainty as rising oil prices, escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, and growing concerns about inflation combine to create a difficult environment for investors. Crude oil prices climbed again Monday as the latest U.S.-Iran military confrontation raised fears that energy supplies could become increasingly disrupted. Brent crude rose to around $97.60 a barrel, its highest level in roughly seven weeks, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude remained above $90 a barrel.
